This dish is the Non-Veg delight for many Vegetarian people. It looks like pull apart meat but definitely tastes like vegetarian. So, Jackfruit is not really favorite vegetable for many:but quite popular in North-Indian cuisine. This vegetable is little tricky to handle. That might be one of the reason why many people don't try it. So if you are preparing from fresh Jack-fruit then you have to take little care of you hands as it has milky secretion which is sticky and discourage one to prepare it. You have to smear Oil in your hands and Knife before handling it. After cutting it you have to take out the layer on the seeds which isn't edible. Then bite size pieces are fried. Needless to say that it's a long process. But no worries, in my recipe I used Canned baby Jack-Fruit which is easily available in market. I just wash it with fresh water and then shallow fry it and later simmer in Tomato-Onion gravy and served with Roti or Naan.

1. Grind Onion,Tomato and Green chili in a blender and make a smooth paste.
2. Add one Tbsp. of Mustard Oil in a pan, When hot enough add the Ginger-Garlic paste in it.
3. Saute it for a minutes and then add Tomoto-Onion puree in it. Mix-well.
4. Let it cook for 8-10 minutes on medium heat. Meanwhile in another pan drizzle little bit of Oil
and add the Jackfruit pieces in it. Sauté them on medium to high heat until golden brown.
5. Take them out in a plate lined with paper towel.
6. Now in the the Gravy add all the dry spices and mix well. In a small bowl add Gram flour
and Yoghurt together, mix well and make a slurry.
7. Add this mixture in the Gravy. Now add Jackfruit pieces in the Gravy and mix well.
8. Add half cup of water and let it simmer for 5-8 minutes. Sprinkle Kassori Methi.
9. Jackfruit curry is ready to serve with Roti or Naan, or with Rice.
