Kala-Chana is an essential part of Durga-Ashtami Puja. It is served with Sooji-Halwa as Prasad.
This dish is very easy to make and healthy additions to the meal.All you have to do is soak them in water overnight and next morning boil them in Salty water, later tempered in Cumin, Red Pepper powder,Coriander powder, Garam -Masala and Some Chana Masala. This dish is so healthy and versatile that you can eat it as snack or breakfast .

 1 cup Kala-Chana:
 ½ tsp Salt: or as per your taste
 ¼ tsp Garam-Masala:
 ½ tbsp Coriander-Powder:
 ¼ tsp Red Pepper powder: or as per taste.
  tsp Asafoetida:
 ½ tbsp Cumin Seed:
Method:

1.Soak Chana over night and wash them thoroughly with fresh water.
2.Add water in pressure cooker and add salt in it.Add Chana.
3.Place the cooker on the flame and when it comes to a boil, close lid of the cooker,
keep the heat on slow and let it boil for 30 minutes.Turn off the heat.
4.Let the pressure release naturally and drain all the excess water.
5.In a pan add ½ Tbsp. of oil and when hot enough, add Cumin Seeds.
6.When start crackling , add all the Powdered spices and let it cook for few seconds.
7.Add Chana in this and mix well. Serve hot with Prasad or can be eaten as snack
or breakfast as well.
